Lead Guitar

A veritable musical alchemist, Ryan Cournoyer spontaneously generates Shifter45's unique lead guitar textures from a secret mix of seasoned melodic and lyrical aesthetics, compositional know-how, and passionate intensity which together transform otherwise lifeless notes into living leads, screaming at your eardrums.  It's like lightning.  

It's a trick he picked up from listening to some of his earliest influences, including Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, STP, Black Sabbath, Soundgarden, Metallica; as well as some more recent important influences such as Frank Black, Beethoven, Frank Zappa, and Ween.   

Ryan has played and taught guitar in Kelowna for over a decade now.  He enjoys passing on the gifts of music to the next generations of rock'n'roll maestros who will be responsible for carrying the fire in the years to come.  Lucky for all of us, right now we have Shifter45!
